Heard Recording is run by Dave, a London based producer/engineer who believes the best recordings start with listening to what you (the artist) wants.

How it works in 5 steps:

1) Check

It starts with a free, no-pressure introductory call. This isn't a sales pitch, it's a vibe check. We'll talk about your music, what you're hoping to create, and whether we're a good fit to work together. If we're not, we'll tell each other. If we are, we move to the next step.

2) Dive

If we decide to go ahead, we'll arrange a deeper discussion. This is where the real listening happens.

We'll talk through:

  • The sounds you're hearing in your head, both overall and for individual instruments

  • The structure of your songs, verses, choruses, bridges, transitions

  • Your influences and reference tracks, the albums, artists, and textures that capture what you're going for

This conversation is the foundation of everything that follows. By the end of it, I should understand your vision as clearly as you do.

3) Plan

4) Record

5) Mix

From that discussion we build a clear, shared plan for your project. We agree on the plan together so everyone knows what to expect, and we still leave room for those magic moments of inspiration that happen in the studio.

All tracking takes place at my London studio. Sessions are up to 8 hours, and we'll use the plan as our guide, while leaving space for any unplanned ideas that emerge in the moment.

After tracking, I'll mix your songs according to our agreed plan. You'll receive draft MP3s to review, and we'll work together to refine them until they're right. (If you prefer to work with another mixing engineer, I'm happy to provide stems, and I can also recommend trusted mastering engineers.)

If this sounds like the right way to bring your sound to life, let’s talk.
